PaCT Staff Meeting 2 November 2016
Lead by Bev Kemp - CoL Pact Facilitator
Looking at the purpose of PaCT and why we have it.
Understanding the Mathematics Aspects
Developed out of Number Frame work, Progression and Curriculum Document. These are broken down into 8 areas.
What would the teacher, student be doing? What would the environment reflect. Look at the little box to the side of the illustration to give you focus ideas.
As a syndicate we need to look at the big ideas and see what we need to be teaching.
Need to look at and think about the evidence that backs up the teaching of each area. Blogs, google docs, books, photos, student voice
Next meeting we look at the one child and have evidence for all the aspects to be covered.

Reading Week 4 Term 4
PB4L - www.choice-connections.com William Glasser. Similar to 7 habits of the mind. Looked at emotional intelligence. Get a new copy of this to be displayed in the classroom and refer to on a regular basis. Like iceberg effect.
Go back to the Grey Main Way - what does this look like, reflected out in our community.

Tips to Encourage Student Accountability in the Classroom
PLG Week 3 Term 4

PLG 19 October 2016 - Managing Difficult Behaviour
PLG 19 October 2016
Watched you tube clip "Just Breathe" Julie Bayer Salzman ad Josh Salzmanabout. This relates to anger and relations.
A lot of discussion relating to using glitter jars in our classrooms. Talks about glitter jar and the similarities and effects. Maybe look at the whole school having a glitter jar in classes to trial. If the whole school is on board then hopefully we will see and effect.
Referred to "Learning to Learn" - great use with Seniors in particular by Christine Ward and Jan Daley. Really good book to use to set up the start of the year. Great strategies to be developed in classes to teach kids how to manager their anger.
Stop, breathe, think, do - print out and have on display in classroom.
